Sterling Silver AF is a 2003 grey Shagya Stallion. He was the highest scoring stallion on the 2006 NASS Shagya Breed Inspection. The judges comments are as follows: "Harmonious stallion with long lines, but still developing.Masculine head, good long neck, well pronounced withers, good topline.Good sporthorse croup.Walk with energy and swinging back.Trot free with rhythm and elasticity.Good canter, still developing and a bit unbalanced.Fine character.Approved for Shagya breeding".Sterling spent 5 days with Monty Roberts at his Flag is Up Farms.Monty, who had never heard of Shagyas, commented on his showing generosity, a willingness to learn, and high level of intelligence.Sterling stands 15.3h. He was in dressage training with Sarah Lockman completing his performance requirements. He is now home taking a well deserved break while I concentrate on getting the mares and youngsters under saddle. Sterling is SCID clear. He is heterozygous grey and has produced 1 black and 3 bay foals. At the recent NASS Shagya inspection, one of the judges told me Sterling is the best Shagya stallion currently in North America! He has offspring in both Australia and Mexico. Sterling is now gelded and I will enjoy him as my riding horse.
Sterling Shagya Sporthorses is pleased to announce that our Shagya-Arabian stallion Sterling Silver AF has completed his Shagya performance requirements and is now fully performance tested through dressage!!! Sterling was not required to be performance tested as he was grandfathered in before North America starting requiring the testing (which is standard protocol in EU). I felt it was important to do it anyway.
